Choose the Right Custom POSM Display Kit for Your Program

A kit is not a list of printed items — it is one shipment that has to land on the same day, install in under ten minutes and survive a six-week campaign. Match the kit to your fixture, your outlet type and the person who actually installs it.

counter-bar-top-posm-kits

Counter & Bar-Top POSM Kits

The highest-visibility kit per dollar for on-premise accounts. A counter mat around 600 x 100 mm in non-slip PVC, a folded A5 or A4 tent card, 90–100 mm coasters and a sampling tray ship nested in one carton of roughly 0.02 cubic meters. Staff wipe these surfaces daily, so specify a print layer that survives alcohol and sanitizer.

shelf-posm-kits

Shelf POSM Kits

Built for grocery and convenience aisles where the shopper is already looking at the shelf. A shelf talker near 200 x 60 mm clips a 25–35 mm shelf edge, a wobbler rides a PVC spring neck, and bottle neckers around 50 x 180 mm dress the product itself. Confirm your shelf edge profile before tooling.

floor-window-display-kits

Floor & Window Display Kits

For entrance, window and endcap positions seen from several meters away. Roll-up banners at 850 x 2000 mm and X-stands pack into a carry bag; window decals use removable low-tack adhesive; floor graphics need an anti-slip laminate rated for foot traffic. Large formats dominate freight, so pack them flat, never rolled loose in a mixed carton.

sampling-tasting-kits

Sampling & Tasting Kits

Built for tastings, festivals and staffed demos where the message is handled, not just seen. A molded sampling tray, taster tokens, neckers and a tent card with a QR code cover one table. Where the tray will be reused across events, choose a washable material rather than single-use board, and pack spare tokens, which always go missing.

on-premise-bar-taproom-kits

On-Premise Bar & Taproom Kits

Everything behind the bar in one box: bar mat, tap handle topper, back-bar sign, menu card and a writable insert for rotating taps. Interior pieces need low-glare finishes — a gloss sign under bar lighting reflects the room and nobody reads it. Menu cards run A4 or A5 and are reordered more often than any other piece in the kit.

multi-market-drop-ship-kits

Multi-Market Drop-Ship Kits

Packed by outlet instead of by item, each carton labeled with outlet code, market and install sheet, then drop-shipped to several countries from one production run. Kit-by-outlet packing costs more per carton than bulk-by-item and saves field time, because your rep opens one box per store. Carton count per pallet is confirmed before production starts.

Branding and Customization

One kit carries one campaign, so every piece has to read as the same brand on the same day. We review the full kit list and artwork together before sampling.

One Artwork Review Across the Whole Kit

Every piece in the kit is proofed against one artwork set and one Pantone reference, so the banner, the shelf talker and the coaster match on press. Change the master artwork after approval and every item in the kit has to be re-plated.

Litho Printing for Long Runs

Offset litho gives the lowest unit price once you pass roughly 1,000 kits and holds spot brand colors accurately. Setup cost is fixed, so short runs pay the same plate charge spread over fewer units, and every artwork change after approval pays it again.

Digital Printing for Multi-Version Kits

Digital print carries variable data — outlet name, language version, price mark — without plate charges. Unit cost stays flatter across quantities, which is why multi-market and multi-language kits usually run digitally, and why late artwork corrections cost less here than on plates.

Board Grade & Structure Selection

Shelf pieces use 350–400 gsm card; free-standing and floor units use B-flute or E-flute corrugated board. Ask for the load the unit has to carry and the campaign length — a floor unit holding product needs a different board from a shelf strip.

Kit Packing, Coding & Labeling

Cartons can be packed by outlet, by campaign or by item, each with a barcode, outlet code and a printed one-page install sheet. Carton cube and cartons per pallet are confirmed before you commit, because that number sets your freight cost.

Decide the Outlet Before the Artwork

Start with the physical facts of the outlet, not the visual. How wide is the shelf edge, and does it take a clip or only adhesive? A shelf talker tooled for a 30 mm edge will not fit a 40 mm edge. How long does the campaign run? Printed card POSM is the wrong choice past roughly twelve weeks — it scuffs, curls and fades in sun, so a long-running program belongs in PVC or metal. Who installs it? A merchandiser with eight minutes cannot build a unit that needs tools. Does the store clean with bleach or alcohol? Unlaminated print fails there in days. And how many outlets? Kit-by-outlet packing costs more per carton and removes repacking at the far end.

How to Specify a POSM Kit That Quotes Cleanly

Buyers who get accurate quotes fast send the same things every time: the kit list with finished sizes, quantity per item and per kit, artwork or at least a reference layout, number of outlets, packing method and destination port. What drives unit price is print method, board grade, color count, die-cut tooling, finish, quantity per version and packing — splitting one kit into six language versions costs more than doubling the volume of each. Freight is driven by carton cube and cartons per pallet, which is why a mixed kit ships cheaper per outlet than the same items ordered separately. Plan backward from the in-store date: about seven days for a physical sample, twenty-five to thirty-five days for bulk production, then ocean freight and local delivery to your warehouse.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom POSM Display Kits

Most kits start from 300 to 500 complete kits per design. Digital print runs can go lower; litho and custom die-cut tooling raise the minimum. Stock blanks with printed decoration only are available below standard MOQ. A mixed kit counts as one design when every piece shares the same master artwork.

A typical five- to eight-piece kit falls between USD 6 and 35 depending on size, print method, board grade and packing. We tell you which item in the kit is carrying the cost before you commit, and which swap saves the most without changing how the kit looks.

Yes. Sampling takes approximately seven days. Build the sample with your real shelf or counter, have your own merchandiser install it, and check the pack order against your install sheet before approving bulk. Time one install with a stopwatch before you sign off, and ask for the sample in its final packing.

Laminated card and PVC hold up for a six- to twelve-week campaign under normal indoor conditions. Unlaminated paper scuffs within days at a bar counter. Outdoor positions need PVC, acrylic or metal, not board, and direct sun fades any unlaminated print. Window sun is the worst case.

Yes. Each carton is packed by outlet with its own label, barcode and install sheet, then shipped to different markets from one production run. Per-outlet repacking adds a packing charge per carton and removes sorting at the destination warehouse. Packing lists and carton counts are issued per market.

A physical sample takes about seven days and bulk production twenty-five to thirty-five days. We ship from China to Europe, Latin America, the UK, Australia and Japan by sea, air or rail, with consolidation across mixed POSM programs. Transit is quoted to your port, then cleared and trucked by your own forwarder.
